What is the difference between the Standard and Standard Cent account types?

Standard and Standard Cent accounts are both classified as Standard account types but do come with a few key differences to be aware of.

Minimum and Maximum Volumes

The minimum volume of a position for the Standard Cent account is 0.01 (cent) lots whereas for the Standard account it is a standard 0.01 lot which is 100 times higher. The maximum transaction size for the Standard Cent account is 200 cent lots while the limit on Standard accounts is 20 lots from 21:00 - 6:59 and 200 lots from 7:00 - 20:59. This makes Standard Cent more recommended for newer and learning traders, while Standard is the next step up from that experience level.

Order Capacity

The maximum number of pending orders is 50 for Standard Cent accounts and 100 for Standard accounts, while the maximum number of open market orders on Standard Cent account is 1 000 while there is no limit on the maximum number of market orders for Standard accounts. This gives Standard the edge over Standard Cent in terms of potential trading volumes.

Trading Instruments

In addition, Standard accounts provide a wider range of financial instruments compared to Standard Cent accounts. For this reason, Standard Cent, and even Demo accounts*, are recommended for newer traders or those wishing to test specific market conditions.

What is the difference between Standard and Pro account types?

Not to be confused with our overall account types, the specific Standard and Pro accounts have a few key differences to be aware of.

Order Execution

While Standard accounts deal exclusively with Market Execution, Pro accounts allow for Instant Execution on most instruments. Be aware this raises the possibility for requotes, but does give traders more control over their desired pricing.

Minimum Deposit

A higher minimum deposit requirement on a Pro account makes it recommended for experienced traders, while the minimum deposit for a Standard account being USD 1 makes it the more accessible option for newer traders.
